summertime

I think I am probably about as unorganized as it gets! This may come to a shock for some (mostly my sister who had to share a room with me a few years in high school), but right now I cannot for the life of me remember what is in the pile of papers sitting next to me or what I am supposed to get done today (I think my to-do list is buried in there somewhere). Oh, and I can’t even look at the sidebar on my own blog for the fear that I might be reminded how soon graduation is coming up! Oh well! At least my mom might pick up some new H&M tank tops for me, I only have a couple months before I start on the road to becoming a vet tech, and Sari & I might go to Europe in 2007. Life is busy, but definitely good. Summer is almost here which means the daylight lasts longer & Ben and I can do fun outdoor stuff again (like take walks, bike ride, enjoy picnics in the park…).

my crazy week

This week has been really busy for me… The scary part is that today I realized it is only going to get even more busy! Oh well, at least it gives me plenty to do.

So my week in short summary. I worked three days this week and on my days off I found plenty of stuff to do! Wednesday I hung out at home in the morning and then in the afternoon/evening I got my hair dyed. Today I read to a first grade class this morning (“The House on East 88th Street” – if you haven’t read it you should!), came home, and then headed out to my new school where I had an orientation session for my vet tech program. I learned lots of important stuff about the fall and got my class schedule. Wow, did I mention life is going to get even more busy?

So that was my week! Now you are probably thinking, hey didn’t she mention she got her hair dyed… before Wednesday my hair was black (if you want a before picture go to my picture album and look at our wedding pics or pics of Ben & I) and now it looks like this.

This was after 5 hours at the hair salon, two times trying to strip the black out of my hair and then finally leaving it a light brown w/blonde highlights through it. The good thing is that I finally found someone who didn’t try to chew me out about wanting to go lighter with my hair color. In fact as she was working on my hair I was telling her that I have pretty much dyed my hair every color besides pink and you know what her response was. “Oh, I have done pink before in my hair. I think it was a couple years ago now, but I can’t remember exactly when since I change my hair color so often too.” Definitely the right hair stylist for me!

Also, two new pics of Pounce & Axel. Who would have thought that two cats could fit side by side on the back of the couch? Well it is a little squished, but apparently that didn’t stop Pounce & Axel. Check out Pounce grooming Axel in the second picture :)

They still fight sometimes (kind of like brothers), but they are definitely best buddies too!

if you were a cat…

So if you were a cat in a household where your humans spoiled you, where do you think you would sleep at night? Maybe on their big queen size bed that all winter had a nice warm heating blanket on it or in another really soft and warm place right…

Well if that is your answer than you must not be Axel. He sleeps in the bathtub of all places. No, you did not just read that wrong. I really did say the bathtub. When it is time for bed, he goes into the bathroom and curls up in the bathtub while Pounce on the other hand lays across the top of the couch to sleep. Occasionally they will come into bed to make sure that I know they still exist and would like someone to wake up and be nocturnal with them, but most the time they sleep in their little places.

Oh, today was also a big event in Pounce & Axel’s world. They graduated to adult cat food! Well, at least they are working on graduating to adult cat food (right now we are mixing it with kitten food, since it is better for their digestive systems to slowly change their food).

Also, Pounce weighs 9.19 pounds. Axel’s weight will remain a mystery as he did not want to come out of his carrier to be weighed. At least getting him into the carrier was incredibly simple. I set the carrier down on the living room floor and both of them (practically at the same time) ran to it and walked right in. How many cats do you know that actually like car rides? Well, two at least… Pounce & Axel:)
