thanksgiving over, finals around the corner (after that I can start thinking about Christmas)

Okay so life has obviously been fairly busy, which is proven by the fact that I have not posted anything lately. Whatever happened to posting once a day in november…. oops!

Anyways, my busy life…. today I had a written exam in Small Animal Lecture, a practical exam in Small Animal Lab, a quiz for A&P, and a quiz in Cat Anatomy. Oh and this is just my monday, tomorrow I have a math quiz & a large animal practical and we won’t even start with how much I have left in the next 3 weeks (2 weeks of classes & 1 week of finals). Needless to say, coming straight off of thanksgiving break it wasn’t easy to take all of those tests/quizzes today. Although I did survive and the stuff for tomorrow shouldn’t be too bad at all.

Thanksgiving was good. Lots of hours in the car, visiting with family, and eating. No turkey for me of course, but there was plenty of other good things… fruit salad made with a recipe that has been passed down in our family (lots of cherries, yummy, and no one minds that I steal all of them), stuffed portabello mushrooms (with garden vegetable cream cheese) on top of spinach leaves, and delicious homemade rolls (made by my wonderful mom-in-law).

Axel actually laid on my lap in the car and just cuddled up to me. Apparently he isn’t a wiggler when he is in the car, I think there is just too much interesting stuff going by the windows. It was nice though to get to cuddle him for a couple hours, since that is a rare occurence (other than when I am trying to sleep at night and he thinks the world should be paying attention to him). Pounce apparently prefers traveling in the late afternoon/early evening during the time he would normally take his incredibely long nap. It is just no fun to be in the car when you could be running around like a crazy cat chasing toy mice in the morning:)

It was good to see my sister with her long dark hair. An interesting contrast to my short blonde hair:) I am sure she is also feeling the crunch of the end of semester and finals nearing. It will be over soon though & we can celebrate:)

Off to read some & study a little (maybe:)… Have a great night!

stress

So I have been slacking off on posting…

I suppose everyone who hasn’t seen me lately would probably be interested in my new haircut & color. However, loading a pic off the camera just seems like too much work.

Really everything seems like too much work.

Hmm, maybe it is because the semester is so close to the very end and I feel slightly overwhelmed with everything I have left to do.

Yeah that is probably why…

Oh well, I suppose I could start working on some of it.

Although cuddling up with the cats on the couch, eating chocolate, and reading sounds like a better plan :)

pictures finally!!!

You have no idea how excited I am! My pictures finally uploaded to blogger after how many days… seriously I thought I was going to have to give up and I was not at all happy about that thought:( So now that I have probably forgot half the stories I was going to tell about this pictures, here they are:) The horse pics are slightly blurry because you cannot use a flash around them. Horses are very skiddish and the smallest thing scares them, so using a flash can really freak them out. Oh and 1000 lbs of freaked out animal is not a good thing! :)

This is Sabrina (the horse) and Sheepie (the sheep). These two have the cutest relationship! Horses do not like to be alone, they like company (hence why you will sometimes see a sheep or goat with a horse) so they gave Sabrina a sheep to hang out with. The funny thing about Sabrina & Sheepie is that Sheepie is the very attached one. He hates it when you separate them (and sheep can cry very loudly!!). Definitely adorable:)

This is a pic of me with Annie, one of the other horses besides Sabrina that we have been working with in lab. She has a little more spunk to her and loves to move her head around a ton, but I think she is a great horse. I would actually really like a horse with her coloring some day. Both her and Sabrina are being held in the stocks that we use to keep them fairly still or at least in one place while we do a physical exam. Working with horses is definitely different in some ways than working with small animals, but I love it!

Me walking Ren (I have no idea how to spell his full name and it is hard to say so we will just go with that version:). This picture doesn’t really do him justice, he is a huge horse and since he is moving his head you can’t really see how much taller he is than me. You will just have to take my word for it that he is quite a bit taller than I am.

Now for some small animal pictures…

This would be a picture of me giving an IV injection on a dogs leg. I would show the whole pic, but obviously one of my friends is in it holding the dog so I figured everyone would get the idea from this. I just figured it might be fun for everyone to see me working with the dogs a little:)

This pic is me with my favorite dog at school, Jack. He is slightly crazy and a little hyper, but I love that about him. If you take him out for a decent little run/walk right before you work with him he totally calms down and is an amazing dog. The glowing green eyes in the background is Roxie, she wanted someone to play with her too:)

So I know that it is a little after midnight, but I think this post counts for friday instead of saturday since I have yet to go to bed! :)
