2nd Blogiversary giveaway

Friday was my 2nd blogiversary! It is hard to believe that I have been blogging for 2 years now. I am so happy to be part of the wonderful community of craft bloggers & it amazes me to think of the wonderful friends I have made all across the world. So thanks to all of you who visit here & read my ramblings! :)

I meant to blog all of this on Friday, but I didn’t have anything to giveaway & I really wanted to do a giveaway:) So yesterday I made this Pleated Bag…

It was quite fun to design, make up a pattern, and put together this bag. There is definitely going to be at least one more using this design in my future, since I was quite tempted not to give this away but keep it for myself. Luckily for whoever wins, the idea of not being able to give something away for my 2nd blogiversary won out over keeping the bag for myself:)

edited to include: For Laurie who delurked & anyone else who is curious – yes the outside of the bag is 100% linen & the lining is fabric from the “Katie Jump Rope” line…

Um… by your post, it sounds like you are saying that you designed this bag yourself. It’s really very clearly the Pleated Beauty bag from Amy Karol’s Bend the Rules Sewing. Credit where credit is due and what not…

Hi Sarah – thank you for pointing out the similarities between my bag and Amy Karol’s beautiful design. I can see why you would think it is that bag. I have seen the book & pattern, and I should have mentioned that I was inspired by the many lovely bags made using her pattern & several other pleated bags that others made before her book was published. I did design my own pattern, but did not mean to give the impression that it was not inspired by other bags that I have seen.

I don’t want anyone to be disappointed if they win the bag, because it’s not identical to that one…

I just found your blog through flickr. The bag is gorgeous. Linen is rare and expensive here so a whole bag made of it is pretty posh to me. I just love the green against the linen.

The bag is wonderful and makes me wish for Spring. The blanket (also wonderful) makes me think we could possibly survive the -16 to -20 degree weather we have been having.
