so many quilts & so little time

I feel like I have so much to blog about I hardly know where to start! :) Lately I have been thinking up great blog posts in my head when I am away from my computer, and then when I sit down to actually write those posts I blank on what I was going to say… I think I need to just jump back in to find my voice. So expect a lot more posts from me in the next few weeks (including a couple of giveaways :).

Yesterday I started a new quilt which brings my total quilts in progress up to 4 – if you also count Amandajean’s nine patch quilt along that I just joined. She is starting round 2 and I missed out on round 1 so I just had to join in. Honestly for the quilt along I will probably end up making 7 blocks at the beginning or end of the week instead of a block a day…

The quilt I started yesterday is just a bunch of 6 inch squares from fabrics in my stash that I am going to piece together. I cut out all the squares yesterday & then set them out on my cutting table. I think this afternoon I will probably start sewing all of the squares together.

Totally wishing I had a quilt wall like the one that Katie has (last photo on that post). I had to set my cutting mats on top of the fabric layout I decided on, since I figured the cats might like to give their design input otherwise :)

  1. Very pretty! I’m working on a patchwork quilt too. I just cut out squares from all the cotton fabrics I own and started sewing them together. It’s been a lot of fun and a good project for me because I can stop when I need to and pick it up again when I have time.
I can’t wait to see how your’s turns out. Where do you buy your fabrics? Do you buy locally or do you order off the internet?

  2. The stash of squares looks great. Lovely fabrics. I see some Arcadia, but you added other fabrica as well. Pretty, pretty!!

I can relate to the blog post stuff. Whenever I’m in the writing modus, I write a number of posts, which I gradually post after I’ve taken pictures. It works for me.

  3. That is a very good suggestion from Nicolette. I type ideas immediately on my phone/PDA memo feature as they come to me.
This will be a beautiful quilt!
