My owl

I am obsessed with all things owl, which a lot of my friends & family can tell you. So you can imagine I have always wanted to see a real owl out in the wild & photograph it. Well I can officially cross that off the list of things to do before I die. We have an owl that visits us on occasion & we often hear him calling. I have wanted to photograph him for the longest time but he is so quick. Today though he swooped down over my head when I took Kairo out, so after I took Kairo back in I grabbed my camera… I only managed to snap one(!) shot before he flew off, but this is what I got :) Enough for me to be quite happy & also identify him as a barred owl :)

Then what happens later in the day! We see a bobcat in our backyard! (Have I mentioned we live in a city – although with a fair amount of property & wooded lots surrounding ours.) Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo of the bobcat, but now that is on my list of things to photograph some day :)
