2011 was really a crazy year for us… There were blessings & tough times this year all mixed together.
2011 brought us Axel being diagnosed with diabetes in January, which has meant a year of twice daily shots & way too frequent vet appointments… As hard as that was (and is) though, it was nice to finally know why he was so sick. Then in April, I feel in love with this sweet shelter kitty & just had to bring her home. So we took Izze into home and it “only” took her until October to be able to share space with our other two cats! Then amidst the craziness we added Kairo to our family in October (we had actually been planning him since before Axel was diagnosed, so he was a bit more planned than Izze :).
2011 also brought me by far the busiest wedding & portrait season I have had since becoming a professional photographer, which kind of took me by surprise in some ways and meant our little family had to scramble at times to keep life somewhat balanced… (With my husband’s job being very busy this year too, it was interesting at times & meant we didn’t have much time together to relax.) We are starting to catch back up on life though & have pretty much recovered from the crazy season :)
Then to top it all off though, I spent all of December sick & only started getting better after a visit to urgent care & some meds. (Coughing for 4 weeks is not my idea of fun…)
So I have to say I am looking forward to starting 2012 & having a fresh start. I actually usually make goals at the beginning of the year, but this year I have decided not to set any. I am just going to enjoy it & see what comes :) Here’s to hoping that 2012 is a little less hectic & we can enjoy the blessings in life a bit more :)
