Skyline over the Harbour Painting

I recently took a few weeks of painting classes & had a wonderful time learning how to paint! I thought I would share my very first painting ever (a little abstract, but I kind of like it)…

Skyline over the Harbour

I will probably never end up selling my paintings (I know where my artistic talents lie & so I will stick to selling my photography), but I have to say it was so enjoyable putting that brush to canvas. The class I took was in acrylics and while mixing/painting fast enough to make sure the paints don’t dry was challenging, I am starting to get the hang of it. I already have a few ideas in mind for my next paintings (as soon as we set up a little space for me to paint where the little ones with four paws can’t get to the paint :)

Blogging & Friendships

I have to say your Christmas decorating confessions made me feel better about my own :) So thanks! As I type this it is snowing in April in Seattle though, so maybe I took the Christmas decorations down too early ;)

Despite the odd weather today, I had a fabulous day. I got to meet a blogging friend – Regina from Creative Kismet! We have been blogging friends since the early days of both of our blogs, so it was so much fun to actually meet in person! We had lunch, chatted blogging and crafting, & then headed over to Fabric Crush in Wallingford to window shop :)

(Thanks to Ahava at Fabric Crush for taking the photo of Regina & I!)

Regina is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog. It was like chatting with a friend I have know for years! (Which I guess we have, just over email & our blogs :) She is also an absolutely amazing artist, I already have one of her beautiful prints & now I am lucky enough to own another one!

I am so excited to frame this one, I have the perfect spot to hang it! Thanks Regina!

Keep Calm & Carry On

I really should not admit this, but it took me till the end of February to decorate our mantel for spring. Then it took me another month to get around to blogging it! (And yes our Christmas decorations were up until the end of February! :)

Anyone else have any decorating confessions they would like to make, so that I feel better about mine? :)I love the spring feel that it has now though & I think the best part is the “Keep Calm & Carry On” sign. I actually ordered one from a (to remain nameless) seller a long time ago, but it was not the color I expected it to be & it actually came slightly damaged (obviously this is not that one). So I just decided to create my own with a color I love. And I love it! :)

If anyone wants the file to print this poster in light blue as a 16×20 just leave a comment on this post. If enough people want to use it, I will post it (for free of course!).
