Six Year Blogiversary

Today marks my 6 year blogiversary! I can hardly believe I have been blogging for 6 years…

So much has happened in the past 6 years, it has been fun to journal it & sometimes look back even… In the past 6 years I learned to sew (and quilt), we moved across the country, added 2 more cats & 1 dog to our previously 1 cat household (total now = 3 cats + 1 dog, we are definitely outnumbered :), started my photography business, bought our first house… Just a few things ;)

Anyways, I have enjoyed being able to share my life, crafting, and photography in this space the last 6 years. So here is to another 6 years of blogging!

Of course, what would a blogiversary be without a giveaway right! For fun I thought I would give away a $50 Pink Chalk Fabrics gift certificate!! To enter just leave a comment on this post before Wednesday (the 1st).

To make it extra fun, if you want another two entries in the giveaway (to up your chances of winning) – subscribe to my blog in a feed reader & leave a comment to let me know you did (if you already subscribe that works too :)

For even more fun, if you want another five entries in the giveaway – write a post on your own blog about your favorite project, blog post, tutorial, or photo from my blog & leave a comment to let me know you did :)

Do all three & get 8 entries into the giveaway :) Good luck, I will announce the winner next Wednesday :)

Changes

It has been kind of slow in coming, but you might have noticed a few changes popping up here & there on the blog (if you read in a feed reader – stop on over to take a look :). Since I plan on being in this space much more frequently this year (more on that later – although if you have not already noticed I have been posting a lot more since the beginning of the year), a sprucing up was definitely in order. I also have been playing around with a new watermark for my crafting photos, since I figured if people are looking at my crafting photos on pinterest or around the web, they might not connect them with my blog – so I now have a “sew click create” watermark along with my photography one. Oh & I finally am getting around to categorizing posts! My goodness after 6 years of posts it is taking some time, but I am excited to have categories so that you can just click & read about my sewing, photography, or whatever… Anyways, stop by & take a look if you read in a feed reader :)

(Totally unrelated photo, but I am wishing for spring right now – Seattle just got snowed on & around here even a few inches of snow is a huge deal… Coming from growing up in the midwest, it is kind of crazy to watch everything shut down…)

Thoughts on Blogging & Life

I have had so many things going through my head lately that I want to blog, but so little time to sit in front of the computer… I hosted a baby shower for two expectant mothers at my home, we had out of town guests for about two weeks (not all the same people during the whole time), and my business has been crazy busy with weddings & senior portraits. Plus we found out that our puppy was born on the 31st, so we will getting ready for him to join our packed household soon :) (This might have to become a puppy blog for a couple weeks when he first comes home ;)

All that makes for a busy life, but a very good one! :)

Anyways, during all that I decided that having two blogs was just not working for me, so I am going to shut down my photo blog (just the blog – I am still doing a lot of sessions & posting on facebook – the blog was just taking up too much time). However, don’t worry I am sticking around here! :) Sew Click Create (originally just Chara Michele) was my original blogging home. While I have seen a lot of blogs come & go in the 5+ years I have been blogging, I don’t plan on being one of those who disappears. Even if no one stops by to read (sometimes I wonder ;) this is still my journal, my thoughts, my place to record life when it is crazy & when it isn’t :)

So all that to say, that I am sticking around but you may see a few more photog posts around here… My business & photography really started out of this space, so I am going to return to that a bit more and occasionally share photos & thoughts on photography. There will still be plenty of crafting (when I have time ;) and life too though of course! So enjoy :)

(And I should add that I will also be back with my “Life Thru the Lens” feature next week as well :)
