Anyways, while I am working away I am also contemplating flooring options for my new sewing space. I thought I had decided, but now I am second guessing again (this is fairly common for me with decorating – I like to be really certain). Right now it is coming down to these two options…Can you see why I am having trouble deciding? The two options are night & day different! :)

I actually have the wall color totally decided on (no second guessing there) and also the cabinet colors as well… It is just the floor that I keep coming back to. The walls are going to be a beautiful soft/medium grey & most the cabinets/furniture are going to be white. I am contemplating painting my fabric cupboards a soft yellow like this though to give a pop of color to the room (while leaving the rest of the furniture white)…

Getting so excited that all of this is becoming a reality! I can’t wait to pull it all together & have this wonderful creative space to sew in. Most of the stuff is pulled out of the room, so some repairs to the walls & painting are next. At that point I will need to have a final decision made on the floors, hopefully I can decide soon – no more second guessing :)

This was really such an easy project, but I love the results since it is so special to us…

So much has happened in the past 6 years, it has been fun to journal it & sometimes look back even… In the past 6 years I learned to sew (and quilt), we moved across the country, added 2 more cats & 1 dog to our previously 1 cat household (total now = 3 cats + 1 dog, we are definitely outnumbered :), started my photography business, bought our first house… Just a few things ;)

Anyways, I have enjoyed being able to share my life, crafting, and photography in this space the last 6 years. So here is to another 6 years of blogging!

Hope everyone is staying warm wherever you are! (For those of you in the southern hemisphere, I am a bit jealous that you have summer right now :)

(Totally unrelated photo, but I am wishing for spring right now – Seattle just got snowed on & around here even a few inches of snow is a huge deal… Coming from growing up in the midwest, it is kind of crazy to watch everything shut down…)

Kairo has grown a bit since these photos & both of his ears now stick straight up, but I love these since they are the only studio photos I have had the chance to take of him so far :) I think these were also the first studio pics I have taken of Izze as well! I guess I need to get to taking more of everyone! :)

We have been talking about “redoing” my sewing space (which is also currently our office) to make it easier & nicer to sew/craft in. My hubby is so wonderful & has always been super supportive of my sewing/quilting/painting/photography… So he wanted to make sure I have the best designed/well thought out space possible. I am so excited to start reading these! Just flipping through the books got me thinking about the craft supplies I have & what I want to make room for…

Have I mentioned lately that I completely filled my fabric cupboard & it is spilling into other cabinets at this point? None of it is super organized (I seem to lack the organizational gene :) and it is actually spread out over 2 rooms right now (my fabric cupboards & some supplies are actually in our family room). So this redesign will be amazing & will get everything into 1 room. I am looking forward to many afternoons spent sewing with Kairo at my feet & my 3 kitties laying on fabric nearby :)
